Medical Baseline Allowance
This program provides an increase in the baseline allowance, the amount of energy that is charged at the lowest possible rate. If someone in a household has multiple sclerosis, a life-threatening illness, is a paraplegic, quadriplegic, or requires regular use of life-support equipment, they may qualify for this additional allowance of electricity at the lower rate. Both the customer and their doctor must complete a Medical Baseline Application.

  • Medical Equipment Discount Rate (MED)
    To qualify for the $15 monthly MED Rate discount, a full-time resident of your household must have a medical requirement certified by a qualified health professional, which is defined as a licensed Doctor of Medicine, Osteopath, Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician’s Assistant. The MED Rate covers:

    • In-home dialysis cycler
    • Electric wheelchair
    • Oxygen concentrator
    • Extraordinary heating or air-conditioning needs for people with conditions such as paraplegia, quadriplegia or multiple sclerosis.

  • Electric Assistance Public Benefits Program
    The Electric Assistance Program provides a one-time annual bill credit of $80.00 toward the electric portion of the Azusa Light & Water billing statement. Electric Assistance Program Eligibility:to apply for the Electric Assistance Program, applicants must meet the following conditions in order to qualify for the assistance program.

    1)    The Azusa Light & Water account holder must dwell and claim the residential premise as a primary residence and must have an active utility account for a minimum of 6 months.
    2)    Must meet the program income qualifications*.
    3)    If there is a past due amount for the ALW account an Installment Agreement to amortize the past due balance must be submitted prior to the approval and issuance of the one-time bill credit.

    This program provides assistance to military families, including a 180-day shut off protection for the family/dependents of military personnel.     BVES is committed to helping its customers manage their energy use and save money. Banning Electric Alternative Rate (B.E.A.R)
B.E.A.R is a program established by the City of Banning to assist qualified low-income city residents with their electric bill. The program is administered by the City of Banning and is funded by the state mandated Electric Public Benefits Charge. Upon approval, qualified applicants will be put on the Low Income Qualified Baseline Service rate, which will result in an annual discount of up to $380 on the electric portion of their utility bill.

  • Residential Low Income Assistance Program
    The City of Colton Electric Utility offers a Low Income Assistance Program for income qualified customers. The program will assist customers with adding additional kilowatt hours to the first tier level charges. To apply for the program, complete the Residential Low Income Assistance Program application and submit it with proof of income. You can print the application from the website or pick one up at the Information Desk at City Hall.

  • Medical Baseline Billing
    The program offers customers an increase to the amount of kilowatt hours in the first billing tier based on the medical equipment used to sustain their livelihood. To qualify, residents must complete one of the following applications and provide proof of medical need for the equipment from a physician. There is a separate application if the medical need is for air conditioning and/or heating. Medical baseline programs are active for one year. If your need extends for more than one year, you must re-apply each year.

  • Temporary Emergency Assistance
    A benefit of up to $350 is available each twelve-month period to an eligible household toward the electric charges on their City utility bill. Eligibility is based on 200% of gross annual income of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines. The City of Ukiah Customer Service Department provides customers with the proper printouts of their account. Non-electric charges must be paid prior to receiving any benefit.
     
  • Senior Citizen Monthly Discount
    A credit of up to $40 is applied toward electric charges each month to eligible Senior households. The City of Ukiah utility bill must be in the Senior's name. The Senior must be 62 years of age or older to qualify. Eligibility is based on 200% of gross annual income of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines. The benefit shows as a credit on each monthly bill for a total savings of $480 each year.
     
  • Non-Senior Household Monthly Discount
    A credit of up to $30 is applied toward electric charges each month to eligible households. Eligibility is based on 200% of gross annual income of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines. The benefit shows as a credit on each monthly bill for a total savings of $360 each year.

    The Utility Users Tax is charged to all users of electricity, water, gas, telephone, and cable services within the City of Glendale.     The Residential Energy Discount program provides a discount on a customer's electric bill and is available to income-qualified customers. This program provides income-qualified renters and homeowners with easy, free solutions to help manage their energy use and save money on their monthly energy bills. Improvements to your house, apartment or mobile home may include: compact fluorescent lights, caulking, showerheads and minor home repair. and more. Furnace and water heater repair or replacement may be available to eligible homeowners when PG&E determines existing natural gas units are inoperative or unsafe. Low-Income Weatherization Program

The LIEEP program is funded by Redding Electric Utility to help income-qualified customers upgrade their homes with energy efficiency measures. The program is open to REU customers and services may include Air Conditioning Efficiency Measures (efficient fan motors and controllers, coil cleaning and refrigerant charge, WiFi enabled smart thermostats, duct sealing,) Hot Water Measures (hot water flow restrictors, low-flow shower heads, water heater blankets), and Lighting and Plug Load Measures (LED lighting, LED night lights, efficient power strips).

Weatherization Anaheim
Public Utilities partners with the Southern California Gas Company, to assist income-qualified renters and homeowners in making their homes more water-energy efficient and comfortable. Synergy Companies, the authorized contractor for this program, offers no-cost home repairs, replaces inefficient appliances, and installs other measures as needed to help customers reduce their utility bills. Efficiency and Rebates The City of Shasta Lake manages a comprehensive energy efficiency incentive program for residential & commercial customers focusing on peak load reduction and energy conservation. Redding Electric Utility 
Low-Income Energy Efficiency Program (LIEEP)
Redding Electric Utility (REU), in partnership with the local Self Help Home Improvement Project (SHHIP), the California Department of Community Services and Development, and PG&E, developed the Low-Income Energy Efficiency Program (LIEEP). LIEEP provides income-qualified owners and renters with a variety of measures designed to increase energy efficiency in their homes. This may include installation of ceiling fans, smart thermostats, ceiling insulation, LED lights, plug load controllers, refrigerators, duct upgrades, window replacements, as well as many other energy saving measures. To determine eligibility for the LIEEP program, or to obtain more information about the program, REU customers should contact SHHIP (www.shhip.org) or at 530-378-6905.

Weatherization Program
Weatherization improvements, refridgerator replacement, and minor home repairs are free to income qualified applicants who own or rent their homes, apartments, or mobile homes and use electricity from TID. Residents of Stanislaus County should call the Central Valley Opportunity Center at (209) 537-9217 to schedule an appointment. Residents of Merced County should call the Merced County Community Action Board at (209) 723-1225 to schedule an appointment.

REACH
A one-time energy-assistance program that is administered through the Salvation Army from 170 offices in northern and central California. Those who have experienced an uncontrollable or unforeseen hardship may receive an energy credit up to $200, credit amount based on the past due amount of the bill. REACH assistance may be available once within an 18-month period, but exceptions can be made for seniors, the physically challenged and the terminally ill. Eligibility is 200% of federal poverty guidelines.
