Annual Low-Income Energy Conference in San Diego

March 1, 2013 -- The National Energy and Utility Affordability Conference (NEUAC) is set for June 10-12, 2013 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. The event combines the annual conferences of the National Fuel Funds Network and the National Low Income Energy Consortium where participants engage in peer-to-peer educational sessions and hear from national experts on programs and policies to help low-income consumers meet their home energy needs.

The National Energy Assistance Directors' Association is having their summer meeting June 9-10, at the same location.

Almost 50 workshops plus two plenary sessions are scheduled for attendees during the two and one-half day conference. Doug Luffborough, who grew up in poverty, is delivering Monday's keynote speech, "Homeless to Harvard." Luffborough has spent over 20 years working with nonprofits as an educational consultant and advocate for social change.

Baseball fans can take advantage of special prices for a pre-game reception and seats Tuesday night when the San Diego Padres host the Atlanta Braves for a National League baseball game. Advance registration for this event is required via the NEUAC registration process.

The registration brochure and conference schedule, including workshop descriptions, are available on NEUAC's website. Visit the website for links to online conference registration and a downloadable registration form. A link for hotel reservations will be available soon. Registration deadline is May 17, with the early bird rate available through May 3 (applications must be postmarked by that date).
