Kentucky CAP Begins LIHEAP Pre-registration Oct. 22

October 18, 2018 – The Big Sandy Area Community Action Program (BSACAP) of Kentucky will be accepting pre-registration applications from Monday, October 22 until Friday, November 2. All other applications will be accepted from Monday, November 5 until Friday, December 14.

Pre-registration is available for those who receive a fixed income, are over 60 years of age or are disabled. Vulnerable household applicants must remember to bring proof of fixed income, age and disability.

James Michael Howell, Kentucky BSACAP Executive Director, said, “Pre-registration should cut down on those long lines and help more people access the services. We want to stress that, although we’re offering the pre-registration, no applications will be approved until Monday, November 5, the first day of the Subsidy component. No vouchers will be sent to vendors until after November 5th.”

When applying for LIHEAP, even if not eligible for pre-registration, it is important to bring the required documentation:
• Photo ID and Social Security Cards for all household members
• Your current energy bill
• Proof of income, which can include pay stubs, copy of court orders or legal documents, award letters, copies of income tax returns, copies of SSI benefits dated with same calendar year as the application.
