Fort Collins Utilities Will Offer New IQA Program to LEAP Participants

November 16, 2018 – Fort Collins Utilities in Fort Collins, Colorado will soon offer the Income-Qualified Assistance Program (IQAP). Applications for this program will be accepted starting in the summer of 2019. To qualify for the program, a household must receive assistance for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

A household receiving IQAP assistance may save approximately $32 a month on their utilities (up to $387 a year) in addition to the LEAP assistance they receive. LEAP provides households with incomes up to 165 percent of the federal poverty guidelines with home heating assistance. Once the application is approved, the bill discount will go into effect in October.

Participants can also benefit from additional money-saving opportunities through home efficiency and educational activities throughout the year. LEAP will have a mobile unit set up in Fort Collins, Colorado this year to help households apply for LEAP assistance.
