LIHEAP Cooling Assistance Available in GA Until June 30

May 24, 2019 – Georgia’s Clayton County Community Services Authority will be assisting Henry County residents with applying for cooling assistance from May 28-31 and June 3-7. Residents can make appointments online through the Clayton County Community Services Authority website. The LIHEAP cooling assistance benefits in Georgia are available until June 30.

Clayton County CSA recommends that applicants check back frequently if they are unable to schedule an appointment online. In preparation of scheduling an appointment, they also recommend having the required documentation. Failure to have the documentation ready during the application process will delay the appointment and the applicant will be required to reschedule.

The Clark County CSA provides a list of documentation required to apply for LIHEAP cooling assistance in Clayton, Fayette and Henry counties:

• A valid driver’s license or photo identification
• Proof of household’s current gross income for the last 30 days for each household member 18 years-of-age or older
• Social security cards for all household members
• Current electric bill, dated within the past 30 days

Application requirements may vary from state-to-state for LIHEAP cooling assistance To learn about the eligibility requirements and required documentation for applying in your state, view your state’s plan on the LIHEAP Clearinghouse web site.
